Hazels – Woking
This four bedroom home exemplifies a contemporary approach to residential architecture where sculptural form, natural materials, and sustainable technologies work in harmony. Defined by dark brick and vertically clad timber volumes, the exterior creates a grounded, tactile presence that integrates seamlessly into its landscaped setting.
Internally, the house is organised around a dramatic double height spine, where bleached timber and blue engineering brick establish a refined material dialogue. At the top of the central stair, a full height frameless glass wall draws the garden inward, offering uninterrupted views and an ever changing connection to nature.
Designed for modern family living, the ground floor features an open plan layout anchored by a bespoke kitchen island. Full height sliding doors extend the living space into the garden, dissolving boundaries between inside and out.
Sustainability is embedded in the fabric of the building. A polished concrete floor throughout the ground level incorporates wet underfloor heating powered by an air source heat pump. Solar panels and a mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR) system ensure energy efficiency and year round comfort.
Upstairs, four light filled bedrooms include thoughtful details such as integrated storage, niche shelving, skylit bathrooms, and a timber framed balcony.
This project reflects our commitment to spatial clarity, crafted materiality, and sustainable design.
